Quote a couple of spoiler-free sentences from the book you’re reading to tempt others...
"But the weight of my books necessitates transport. I do not have much for thirty-five years on this earth: mostly books, a few photographs."
-- The Lost Garden, Helen Humphreys.
A friend recommended this author, and I am enjoying this one so far. Anyone else come across her?

Oh, I absolutely adored that book! Helen Humphreys lives just over an hour away from me and I keep suggesting that we have her to the library for a talk. Have you read Coventry? She writes so succinctly and yet I have this huge movie going on in my head when I read her books, just fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI am not familiar with the book at all but the quote is great!
ReplyDeleteHaven't read anything else by her - I did cheat a little as I this has been on the go for a while but I keep forgetting to take it out! Most of the others on Amazon look as though they'd appeal to me. How fantastic that she lives so close - you definitely should try to get her in. Maybe I could come over?! Or at least blog link up...
