Thank you from Mrs W

An ENORMOUS thank you to everyone who helped to virtually celebrate our wedding on 2nd August by putting up special posts on their blogs. I can't tell you how touched I was when I went (illictly because it is so expensive!) onto google reader when I woke up super early on my wedding party, spotted one, and then another, and then realised that there were going to be a whole load! Here's the definitive list with big thanks to everyone involved and even bigger thanks to Rachel who organised it all.

Simon shared cute bears and asked who people's favourite married couple in fiction was here.
Flowers and words from George Eliot from Darlene here.
Hayley shared some appropriate Virago titles, most of which I've read ;-) here.
And Jane compiled a Virago book of quotations about marriage and weddings - the Virago Book of Weddings! What an amazing present for someone who is reading through all of the Virago Modern Classics.
Iris shared cake, a congratulations card, and a friend for Bernard here.
JoAnn showed us the Wedding Song (which I'd never seen!) here.
A beautiful heart tree from Danielle here.
A lovely poem at Flowers and Stripes here and CAKE and balloons and bicycles!
The OldEnglishRose who gets married next month posted beautiful flowers here.
Yvann wondered if I would be jumping for joy - well, possibly I would have done if my dress hadn't been quite so tight...here.
And the lovely Claire shared her virtual participation in my hen party here.
I hope I didn't miss anyone.

We had a wonderful time, but life since returning late last night has been a whirlwind of laundry and unpacking and we now have to spend the next four days trying to get things organised for our celebratory lunch on Saturday.

I am really looking forward to sharing some of the photos from my trip and a few wedding photos; however it's not fair to post them up here before our nearest and dearest have seen them, so I shall devote all of next week, after the wedding lunch to some pictures! And after that I shall try to get back into book and cake blogging...

But here's a picture of Zell am See to keep you going.

  2. It was such a lot of fun to whip around and see everyone's posts! I can't believe your wedding has come and gone but here's to more leisure time for reading instead of making lists.

  4. Many congratulations. I was disappointed I couldn't participate given that I was away from the Internet on the day of your wedding. But JoAnn's post inspired me so you will see a mention of your nuptials on My Porch in the days to come.

  5. Welcome home, Mrs. W! Wasn't sure if you would be familiar with the song, but since it's such a classic here, I thought I'd take a chance. Take your time settling back in at home. We'll look forward to your photos.

I think you've just missed one blog out, I was going to send you an email with all the links but you've beat me to it.
