Apologies for the unplanned absence, and apologies in advance for several more probably unplanned absences over the next couple of months. Particularly as I go from this:

to this:
which is just sad and makes me unhappy :(

I have a lot on my plate at the moment, and although I'm still baking, things seem to disappear just before photos get taken or uploaded, I've barely had time to sit down and read, and I succumbed to a migraine and had a day off work this week which is SO unlike me. Comfort rereading is the order of the day, but as more and more shelves of books disappear, I panic to a greater and greater degree that a book I want will be at the house, rather than in the flat, and dare I reveal, that I probably wouldn't be able to find it there as owing to a lack of boxes, the books are just being dumped in a jumble in the third bedroom.

Please come back tomorrow as I need to discuss wedding reading with you all, and what better day to do it than on the Royal Wedding day?!

  1. Sympathies on the migraine - they are truly ghastly. Well done for taking a day off, and I hope there are no more for quite a while.

Re the packing, can you pick out your next 20 reads and just keep them in the "this is important, don't move it till the last minute" box?

  2. Oh poor you! Hope you feel better soon. Moving can be such a nightmare.

  3. Sorry to hear that things aren't going well for you. I hope that everything improves soon.

  4. Think how much fun you will have arranging them all in the new house!

  5. Oh dear, it is painful having to deal with so much and not being able to pull out just the right book for therapy. But it will be worth it!

  6. Hope you feel better soon but I can imagine you've got a lot on your plate at the moment with your upcoming wedding however enjoy this all! No matter how stressful some things seem you'll remember this whole process as fun when you look back years from now.

  7. Verity - hope you have a day off decorating and book moving today. Take your time and don't worry about not blogging.

  8. Thanks Yvann - I'm still not feeling better - should have had two or more days off. The trouble is with comfort reading I might suddenly think "I want to read that" and not be able to retrieve it.

    Miranda - I'm dreading it :(

Jackie - I expect I'll get there eventually, but I'd like to wake up in 6 months with it all over.

Jo - that is the only consoluation!

Jane - you've exactly hit the point there :(

Astrid - thank you. I hope I will remember it as fun - at the moment it feels like the stuff of nightmares.

Rachel - yes, day off from DIY, but I'm at work :( Boo...
