Claire and I have spent considerable time making plans for Persephone Reading Weekend today and we're both getting very excited about it! So this is a little reminder to have your Persephone books at the ready to join in the fun from Friday to next Sunday. Thanks to Nicola at Persephone books we have a total of 10 Persephone books to giveaway in various competitions over the weekend, details to be announced on Friday. No need to sign up :)
PS: As extra enticement for those of you who are new to Persephone, if you don't have any Persephone books yet or have never had the chance to read one, we have a special giveaway that might enable you to join in next time, and we will also be offering a giveaway for anyone who is reading their first Persephone book over the weekend.
I am excited for this! I bought my first Persephone a few months ago and have been saving it for this weekend! :)
ReplyDelete10 books! How lovely. I don't think many of us need reminding as we're all on tenterhooks :-) It sounds like it's going to be great! Thanks Verity and Claire!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting! I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteExcited!
ReplyDeleteAm all ready to go! Now to break it to my family that they will be a bit ignored next weekend. Thanks as always for organizing such a great event!
ReplyDeleteTen books to give away! Wow! I also have a couple of items I'll be giving away but I'll say no more as I want it to be a surprise. I've just finished a Persephone last night but I'll be saving my review so I can post all three days. I'm really looking forward to this.
ReplyDeleteI am really looking forward to this! Better get started actually, as no doubt it will take me a week to get mine read!
ReplyDeleteVery much looking forward to the big event and finding out what everyone is reading! I'm working next Saturday but Dorothy Whipple's short stories should fill the rest of my spare time quite nicely.
ReplyDeleteAnd such a generous offer of books from Nicola, that's wonderful!
How exciting.
ReplyDeleteI have my first book ready to go, but might start reading it a bit early as I am new to them and quite keen to read it!
I received four books in the mail as choices (I just realized that three are chunksters)--Alas, Poor Lady, A Very Great Profession, and Few Eggs and No Oranges; and then I also received two copies of The Mystery of Mrs. Blencarrow. I'm definitely ready to begin!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this! There were so many tantalizing titles to pick from, but I went with Noel Streatfeld (Saplings) because I've never read any of her adult fiction, and it sounded intriguing. Susan E.
ReplyDeleteI am planning on picking up a Persephone at the library this week and, as chance would have it, I just fininshed reading my first Persephone as well!
ReplyDeleteHave planned my posts and hopefully my reading too - if I finish bookclub book in time. Thank you for organising.
ReplyDeleteWoo! Lots of people joining in! It's going to be massive (so I am very glad it is just a weekend this time!)
ReplyDeleteNot sure what we're doing this coming weekend, but I'm certain I will be able to fit in reading at least one Persephone, but which one to go for, decisions, decisions.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'm excited for the giveaways! This is my first Persephone Reading Weekend, for which I read my first ever Persephone book :-)
ReplyDeleteI definitely plan to participate. I have not decided what I will read yet.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely looking forward to it! I have Friday and Saturday off from the library and have my books ready.
