I wondered last year what I could do with the cross-stitches I seemed to be churning out at a rate of knots, and found the solution - make them into very special cards! This design was obviously meant to celebrate a birthday, so I took it along to Paperchase and chose a card and envelope to go with it. All I needed to do then was fray the edges and glue it on and I was able to save K from having to go out and choose a card for his Mum. I hope she liked it.

Is the cross stitch stuck on top? Did you know there are cards you can buy that allow you to put the cross stitch inside and have an open window front.
ReplyDeleteIt is gorgeous and I am sure your mum will love it.
Sure Ken's mum will love the card.
ReplyDeleteWonder if it works out cheaper to buy that kind of card and stick the frayed out cross stitch on top, then it does when you buy the ones with the aperture cut out.
I've seen those cards, too, I think they're called passepartout. But your card looks pretty anyway!
ReplyDeleteIf Ken is anything like R then you made his day by saving him the pain of a card shop. Such a lovely gesture, Verity, definitely a card to be treasured.
ReplyDeleteLovely.
ReplyDeleteA nice gesture and then card can be kept forever.
I have not made any cross stitch cards for a while. Putting me to shame!
