Persephones!

Big excitement here in Cardigan Girl's Flat....the Persephone BiAnnually arrived this week and featured an excerpt from my review of The world that was ours.

Of course, Persephone BiAnnually also means new Persephones, and I immediately ordered both Dimanche and Other Stories and Still Missing, plus Good things in England to take advantage of the discount in ordering 3 books. Wonderful - can't believe how quickly they arrived or how lovely the endpaper to Still Missing is.

Just in time for Persephone Reading Week...

  5. Ooh, congratulations. I recognized quite a few blogger names in this issue!

The Persephone Biannually is so wonderful; each issue you get a high quality short story and a free book mark, amazing! I cannot think about the story from the last edition, Dorothy Whipple's 'A Lovely Time', without my heart wobbling into my throat.

I l.o.v.e. the fabric used for Dimanche and Other Stories.

  6. Oh that is thrilling news! My copy will most likely be delayed a few weeks due to the flight backlogs. Looking forward to seeing your excerpt in print, Verity!

  7. A well-deserved mention and honor! Have heard that those of us in the US may wait awhile due to postal delays/ cancelled flights. I will try and be patient. But it is hard. Can't wait to see new endpapers!

  9. It was lovely to see names I recognised on the blogs report in the Biannually.

Also to spot on the events page the Persephone tea party in Edinburgh that was inspired by the group of D E Stevenson fans who are making the pilgrimage to Scotland in June. They're coming from Canada and the USA, there will be some from the UK as well.

I won't be at the tea party, but will be thinking of my DESsie chums who are having that fun.

  11. I can't wait to get my Persephone Biannually--it probably won't come for another week or so--but something to look forward to. I've been very good--not ordered any new Persephone titles for ages--I think I deserve a new book (or three...). Enjoy your goodies!
