Cupcakes

I made my first attempt at piping icing onto cupcakes at the weekend, and here is the result. I didn't quite get it right, but I couldn't resist sharing the picture because of the lovely sparkly pink heart sprinkles that I found to go on top!

  1. Verity - they look gorgeous! I'm sure they were delicious too. Piping icing isn't easy. I still haven't gotten the hand of it. Need to practice some more.

  4. They look lovely! The heart-shaped sprinkles are so delicate and very grown-up. Piping is one of those things which appear to be so easy until you're actually wielding a piping bag. Add a pot of tea and you have the makings of a tea party there!

  6. Thanks all - I am quite pleased with them, just think I might need a slightly larger nozzle/slightly softer icing next time. Ken did love the heart shaped sprinkles!

  7. They look fine to me, Verity. Piping is not one of my accomplishments, so I tend to stick to plain old water icing, or butter cream when it comes to decorating cakes.
